The Amnesia nightclub, the focal point of Cap d'Agde's nightlife in summer, attracts not only tourists, but also many young people from the area. L'AMNESIA CAP D'AGDE
The Hérault Méditerranée Agglomeration has approved the principle of extending the system set up two years ago, with the company Kéolis. A few details still need to be finalized before the tourist season.
For two summers now, the Hérault Méditerranée urban community and its public transport service provider, the company Kéolis, have set up a shuttle which, every evening in the summer between July 10 and the end of August, brings party-goers back to the Agde campsites, and also to the city centre, with three rotations at 4 a.m., 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. from the Île des Loisirs, in Cap d’Agde.
A system that has gradually found its cruising speed, appreciated by young people and their parents, as you can imagine, but which the mayors of the Agglo would have liked to see extended to other parts of the territory. In view of what was announced on Monday 3 January at the community council meeting held in Saint-Thibéry, we can tell you that it is almost a done deal.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000It was the vice-president for transport and mobility, also mayor of Caux, Jean-Charles Desplan, who announced this excellent news, during a deliberation dealing with the choice of the new transport delegate for the next six and a half years, namely the company Kéolis, which was in any case the only one to position itself.
Questioned after the meeting, Jean-Charles Desplan confirmed that not only would the shuttle in its current form be maintained, but also extended towards Vias and Portiragnes for its coastal part. “But we are also going to extend the system towards the north of the territory”, added the elected official, who evokes at least “a stop in Bessan and most certainly in Pézenas.” A detour via Florensac is also being considered, even if it is not necessarily practical to set up. But on this point, the pugnacity of the mayor of the town, Vincent Gaudy, could tip the balance.
While Gwendoline Chaudoir and the town hall of Portiragnes are leaning more towards an extended shuttle during the week – rotations at the rental level are in fact on Saturdays and Sundays –, in the direction of Pézenas, the journeys will only take place on weekends. Which is a good start, let's agree. The project remains to be refined, still under discussion between the various stakeholders. One certainty: the return journey (there will be no outward journey, Editor's note) will be chargeable, at a rate of €3, “and we will ask for a contribution from campsites and nightclubs”, warns Jean-Charles Desplan.
