Ricky Martin is at the center of the news again. In early July, the press reported that a man had accused the singer of domestic violence, and the police were trying to serve Martin with a restraining order against the alleged victim. Now even more shocking details are emerging: according to the Spanish edition of Marca, the man who suffered from Ricky's actions turned out to be his own nephew.
The publication, citing the brother of the 50-year-old performer, writes that 21-year-old Dennis Sanchez went to court, saying that he and his famous uncle had an affair. The relationship allegedly ended at the initiative of Dennis in early 2022, but Martin “did not accept the breakup” and began to pursue the young man. According to Marca, if the singer's guilt is proven, he could face up to 50 years in prison for incest.
On July 21, Sanchez will testify in court. Martin's lawyers issued a statement denying all charges, citing the mental illness of the singer's nephew:
Unfortunately, the person who made these accusations suffers from serious mental problems. Of course, Ricky Martin never had and would not have a sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.
The very idea that this is possible, the celebrity lawyer called “not only false, but also disgusting”:
We all hope that this person will be helped, in which he urgently needs. But most of all, we are waiting for these terrible allegations to be refuted, as soon as the judge becomes familiar with the facts.
Ricky Martin has been married to artist Jwan Yosef since 2017, together they raise three sons and a daughter.
In early July, it became known that Martin's former manager Rebecca Drucker filed a lawsuit against the star for not paying her for her work. The woman mentioned how in September 2020 she saved the singer from the collapse of his career — according to her, then someone threatened to publicly press charges against the singer, and if this happened, “the consequences would be disastrous.”
