Pierre Caillet : “On ne va pas tout remettre en question pour un seul match.” Midi Libre – SYLVIE CAMBON
After two good victories at the start of the year, ASBH lost this Friday, January 14, 17-29 at the reception of Colomiers. A first defeat in 2025, the 8th in 18 championship matches, which causes a lot of disappointment for manager Pierre Caillet. Interview.
You seem very disappointed…
Disappointed, yes. However, we were warned. We talked about this match all week. We knew that Colomiers would come with ambitions and the desire to respond to what we did to them in the first leg. Tonight, we were not good. We were dominated in desire, in aggressiveness, in important areas in rugby. However, we had the weapons. We saw it in some actions where we tried to get our heads back on track, but tonight, we lacked the intensity to impose our game.”

We are coming off a great victory in Angoulême, we should have arrived confident and motivated. But the start of the match was not good. Colomiers played very well. For our part, we lacked involvement and options in the game. We had the wind in the first half, but we never used it. When you can't dominate the duels, you have to think about other forms of play. Tonight, we remained in a framework without genius, without intensity, and that's what made us lose.
What was the speech at the end of the match ?
The speech is to say that we let our guard down, when we knew that we shouldn't have done so. Rugby is sometimes cruel. Tonight, Colomiers simply dominated us and losing at home doesn't please us. It's a misstep, and we'll have to have as few as possible between now and the end of the season. But there is some positive: we are still second in the standings, there are still great things to come. We are not going to question everything for a single match. Besides, we have some good news, a player will be returning to our squad soon.
How do you assess the results of this block? ?
The block's results are correct. We could have gone for 15 points by doing our best. Tonight, we have 10. It's a normal block, not excellent, but correct. It shows how difficult and demanding this championship is over time.
Resting until Thursday, the Biterrois will begin their second block of the year 2025 with the reception next Friday, February 7 of Oyonnax, currently 9th in proD2. I subscribe to read the rest
