Rugby Union: In Sète, F3 rugby club is desperately looking for able-bodied players

The infirmary is full to bursting at RC Sète. MIDI LIBRE – Jérôme Belluire

Beaten this Sunday, January 19 at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (31-16), RC Sète has the equivalent of an entire team on the floor.

“It's an avalanche…” Jean-Luc Fabre has the right words when it comes to discussing the situation of RC Sète today.

This Sunday, Anthony Estruch's men were in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, then last in the standings, to try to distance themselves from the back of the pack. It was no use. Beaten 31-16, the Sète team are eighth, now one point behind their executioner of the day and especially the relegation zone.

Sixteen absentees

And the sky is not really about to clear up. “On the group originally planned, we have sixteen players less as well as coach Éric Piazza”, continues the president. “And on Sunday, we lost Renaud Droitecour (tear). The day before, we lost JR Alfaroli (meniscus) and Akim Bouzhir (flu). There is a bad eye on RC Sète. We make do with what is left, but it is not enough. On Sunday, we traveled with 18 with the B, with 21 with the first. Those who are on the field do what they can, many do not play in their position…”

RC Sète will host Smuc on February 9, for a very important match. But with which team?
