Despite the fact that the Russian Federation will not capture the Donbass in the near future, the Russian authorities are not going to just give up and “go home”, says a Western official.
The West believes that Russia has finally lost the initiative in the battle for Donbass and will not be able to capture the region in the near future. This is reported by The Independent.
But, according to a Western official who did not give his name, despite the fact that the Russian Federation will not seize Donbass in the near future, “they are not going to just give up and go home.”
Previously, Western officials said that the Russian Federation was making “real progress” in capturing Donbass, and now the West considers the capture of the entire territory of the Donetsk region “the minimum political goal of the campaign in Donbass”, and that the Russian Federation will achieve it in the next few months, it becomes “increasingly unlikely”.
Recall that it is increasingly difficult for the enemy to make up for losses, especially in manpower.
