Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeev said that in the future Russia will need to undergo denazification, similar to the one that Germany underwent after World War II. This is reported by “European Truth”.

“Germany has great experience in how to re-educate entire generations of people,” the diplomat explained, adding that the country’s residents are still trying to look for “good Russians,” although they are gradually moving away from the idea that Putin is solely responsible for the Russian-Ukrainian war. .

“It's not Putin who kills, it's not Putin who rapes, it's not Putin who tortures – it's the Russians,” the diplomat said.

Makeev believes that the task is to convince the Germans look back at their past, because the repentance that Germany went through is a perfect example of what the Russian Federation must go through.

According to the diplomat, this does not require the occupation of Russia – there are alternative methods in the 21st century.< /p>

At the same time, denazification does not yet mean reconciliation with Ukraine, since decades will pass before the president of the Russian Federation elected in democratic elections will be able to visit Kyiv and, like German Chancellor Willy Brandt in Warsaw in the 70s, stand on kneel in front of the Wall of Remembrance for Ukraine near St. Michael's Cathedral.
