Russia must stop blocking the supply of Ukrainian wheat, stressed in the European Union.
Russia is obliged to lift the blockade of grain supplies from Ukraine, since this is a matter of life and death “for many people.” This was stated by EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell before the meeting of European Foreign Ministers in Brussels, CNN reports.
“The solution of the Russian blockade of Ukrainian grain supplies is a matter of life and death for many people. Russia must lift the blockade and allow the export of Ukrainian grain,” he said.
During the meeting in Brussels, the parties plan to discuss:
- the war in Ukraine;
- sanctions against Russia ;
- increased military support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On Wednesday, July 20, the EU Commission will raise the issue of gas supplies and the union's dependence on Russia's energy sources.
Borrell also added that the EU will not stop supporting Ukraine and imposing sanctions against Russia despite the risks to its energy supply.
Recall that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that negotiations to unblock Ukrainian ports are in the final stage.
Earlier it was reported that plans to restore the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea provide for partial clearance by Ukraine of ports and approaches to them, a ceasefire for the passage of caravans of ships with grain.
