The Russian foreign Ministry expressed “deep outrage at the” desecration of the monument to Soviet Marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky in the Polish city of Legnica.
This is stated in a statement released on Wednesday the comments of the Department of information and press of MFA of Russia.
“Deeply outraged by the mockery of the memory of the outstanding Soviet military leader, twice hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union Rokossovsky”, – said the Russian Ministry.
The Russian foreign Ministry unhappy that the Polish authorities had not expressed respect to “this ugly event”.
“Noteworthy is the fact that once again the act of vandalism committed in the territory of a military burial, although Warsaw has repeatedly assured that such facilities will enjoy immunity and should be protected”, – said Russian diplomats.
“Obviously, staged in Poland “on stream” desecration of monuments to Soviet soldiers-liberators is directly related to the atmosphere of hostility towards the Soviet Union and Russia, which is forced by the efforts of government and industry media campaign to rewrite and falsify history to Russophobic spirit, which has long been the core of the Polish historical policy,” protested the Russian Ministry.
