Russia has been kicked out of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

ICAO on its Twitter page has published a list of countries included in the Council following a vote held on Saturday. Australia, Brazil, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, China, USA, France and Japan were elected to the Council in the first round of voting.

The organization held Russia responsible for violating Ukraine's sovereign airspace and bombing airports , which contradicts the key agreement of 1944, which sets out the basic principles of global aviation.

Moscow has already stated that the non-election of the Russian Federation to the ICAO board is political. Russia still remains a member of ICAO and will continue to work as part of the organization, and this will in no way affect international flights from the Russian Federation.
