The collapse of the Russian car market continues. In September, 46,698 new passenger cars were purchased in the Russian Federation, which is 59.6% less than in the same period last year. This is evidenced by the statistics of the Association of European Businesses.

The rate of decline slightly decreased and in September they sold 10% more cars than in August. Basically, the growth was ensured by sales of “simplified” versions of Lada without ABS and airbags. Nevertheless, the Russian car market has been falling for the ninth month in a row.

AvtoVAZ remains the leader in the market – its share has already reached 44.2%. 20,641 Ladas were sold, five times more than Hyundai (3,888 cars) in second place. There is also an increase in the popularity of cars from China, because under the sanctions, cars are actually imported only from this country.

Lada models take first place in the Russian market. The leader is Lada Granta (13,421 cars), and the second is Niva (3,439 units). The third was the Chinese Haval Jolion (2313 cars). The TOP 10 most popular models are dominated by cars of Russian and Chinese production.

In total, 506,661 cars have been sold in the Russian Federation since the beginning of the year, which is 59.8% less than in the same period last year.
