Crossover Aurus Komendant design is very similar to the British Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The hybrid installation for the car was developed by Porsche.
The new Aurus Komendant was presented in the Russian Federation. The second model of the Cortege project is planned to be put into production in 2023 and will be sold at a price of $584,200. This is reported by the official website of the brand.
Aurus Komendant 2023 is a full-size crossover with a length of 5380 mm, a width of 2004 mm and a height of 1820 mm with a wheelbase of 3100 mm. The design clearly copies the Rolls-Royce Cullinan – the Komendant has a similar rectangular chrome grille and oblong headlights. It is worth noting that the British SUV is almost half the price of its clone – its price starts at $325,000.
Despite its huge size, the Aurus Komendant crossover is a four-seater. Front and rear mounted two chairs with electric, heated and ventilated. The rear seats cannot be folded down to increase the trunk.
The interior trim used leather and wood. Two displays are installed on the front panel, and separate monitors are also provided for rear passengers. Equipment includes four-zone climate control.
The SUV is positioned as an independent development, but in fact, the platform and power unit for the Aurus were developed by Porsche. Like the Aurus Senat sedan, the crossover is equipped with a 598-horsepower hybrid setup with a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 and an electric motor. The car weighs 3235 kg, so with such power, the characteristics of the Aurus Komendant cannot be called outstanding – 6.5 s to a hundred and a maximum of 220 km/h.
The Aurus Komendant SUV received a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. An air suspension with a ground clearance variable within 215-260 mm is also provided.
Aurus plans to produce 5,000 cars a year at a plant in Yelabuga. This figure seems too optimistic, because the start of production at the enterprise was postponed for two years, and in 2022 it assembled only 12 Aurus Senat cars. Part of the Komendant will be used to accompany government motorcades.
