Footage has appeared on the network, which supposedly shows the moment a missile hit a Russian combat helicopter, shot down the day before in Karabakh.
Video leads the Telegram channel “Before everyone”.
“These footage appeared on the network, eyewitnesses claim that they captured the moment a missile hit the Russian Mi-24,” the caption to the video says.
He also brings photos from the crash site.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry called the incident an accident and apologized.
The statement also says that Baku is ready to pay compensation and assures that the tragic incident was not directed against the Russian military.
“In light of the tense situation in the region and increased combat readiness in connection with possible provocations of the Armenian side, the duty combat crew made a decision to open fire to kill,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry described the incident.
As reported, the Russian Defense Ministry's Mi-24 helicopter was shot down near the village of Yeraskh while escorting a Russian military convoy.
