Sylvester Stallone is a superhero grandpa in the trailer for Samaritan (aka Le Samaritain in French) which will be released on Amazon Prime Video.

< p style="text-align: justify;">While we recently learned that John Wick could have been an old badass, it's the turn of a real dean to prove his physical abilities in The Samaritan< /strong>, the new Amazon production. Exit Tom Holland and his juvenile Spider-Man as well as Ezra Miller and his prepubescent Barry Allen/Flash, grandpa Sylvester Stallone is determined to show what he's made of.

At the height of his 76 years, the American actor will play an ultra-powerful superhero in this new production by Julius Avery, an American filmmaker who has already made two feature films, Son of a Gun with Ewan McGregor in 2014 and Overlord in 2018, a horror war film produced by J.J. Abrams. After these two muscular films, Avery remains in the same register with The Samaritanin which Stallone, after playing Rocky, goes rock in this testosterone-packed debut trailer.

The trailer therefore reveals Stallone as a retired vigilante, forced to return to service by his young neighbor. Javon 'Wanna' Walton (Euphoria, Umbrella Academy) plays Sam Cleary, a young shitty 13-year-old who suspects a certain Mr. Smith, code name very discreet, to be in reality Samaritan, a true urban legend who has passed himself off as dead .

In this city with the air of Gotham City, the boy forces the old man to return to the front of the stage to restore order in the city struck down by crime. Hyperpowerful, the old man resists everything, even a violent car accident. Obviously, his return is not well seen by everyone and a very angry rival against the Samaritan, played by Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones), quickly becomes known.

Casting is also composed of Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black), Moises Arias, Martin Starr, Sophia Tatum, Michael Aaron Milligan or Natacha Karam. The photography was entrusted to David Ungaro who, for the little useless anecdote, was also cinematographer on the French films Le Prénom and La Rafle.

< p style="text-align: justify;">The unmatched superhero will land on Amazon Prime Video on August 26, 2022, two months before Black Adam which will also feature World's Most Powerful Man Dwayne Johnson. We can't wait for the crossover.
