The Prime Minister and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sanchez, has praised the Executive’s management of the pandemic and the progress achieved despite her and the hostile attitude of the opposition “most furious and irresponsible in Europe”.
In a letter sent to the socialist militancy, he has assured that the Government is not satisfied with Spain returning to the starting point prior to the covid and has added that “You will not exit this dark tunnel from the same place you entered.”
“This exceptional crisis will give us the opportunity to set up a better country,” said Sánchez, who has reviewed milestones such as the Climate Change Law, the Digital Spain Strategy 2025, the Minimum Vital Income, the Demographic Challenge Plan, the Euthanasia Law or the Childhood and Adolescence Protection laws, for People with Disabilities and Sexual Freedom.
“We have advanced in rights, in freedoms, in social justice, in progress, in ecology”
These advances, he adds, “we are achieving from a coalition government, together with our partners in the Council of Ministers, but also counting on the rest of the political formations in Parliament where we have reached agreements that have always made it possible to carry out all these reforms. “.
“We have weathered the brutal scourge of the pandemic. But we have not limited ourselves, much less to resist. We have advanced in rights, in freedoms, in social justice, in progress, in ecology. Let us value these achievements, because we have achieved them while fighting against the worst emergency of the century. ”
He accuses the opposition of putting European aid at risk
Spain has resisted and advanced “despite the hostile attitude of the most furious and irresponsible opposition in Europe” that has not provided support, not even in the worst moments, nor has it contributed a single positive initiative, nor in the most elementary issues.
“Nothing seems to be able to stop the ferocity of the opposition from the right and the extreme right”
“We counted on the virulent and implacable exercise of the opposition because it seems to be the style of the house of the Spanish right, but nobody could imagine that it would go so far as to put into play the very European aid that our country deserves and requires and as to paralyze the functioning of the capital institutions of our democratic Constitution, “the text states.
“Nothing seems to be able to stop the ferocity of the opposition from the right and the extreme right. Neither the Constitution, nor the recovery of our economy, nor concord among Spaniards“, has warned Sánchez, who has asked the Socialists” to work looking forward, thinking of the Spanish men and women, to continue talking with everyone and looking for agreements and for a better country. ”
In the letter, Sánchez alluded to the remodeling of the Executive carried out a few weeks ago and assured that it was done with the intention of forming the best possible Government to accompany Spain in the transition from an emergency scenario to a context of recovery and transformation.
Regarding the PSOE, he has said that it is an “inexhaustible pool of talent” and that the 40th Federal Congress will be particularly transcendental because it is no longer just a matter of providing an alternative to the “injustice and inequality caused by the disastrous policies of the right in recent years, nor of being a brake on the growing threat of extremism.” .
