In the Russian Federation, prices for car parts have risen sharply. The original parts of some brands have risen in price by 1.5-2.5 times and have become a shortage.
Prices for auto parts in Russia have skyrocketed over the past six months. Under the sanctions, parts for cars have become more difficult to get and it is far from always possible to replace them with non-original components. Kommersant writes about this.
According to the NAPI analytical agency, prices for original spare parts for Haval in Russia increased by 93.3% from January to July, for Geely – by 57.7%, and for Hyundai – by 44.5%.
Kia is in the best position – the growth in value was only 20.6%. Even Lada showed an increase in prices for parts by 33% at once, despite the fact that many of them are produced in Russia.
The situation is much worse in the premium segment – parts for Mercedes-Benz, BMW or Lexus became more expensive by 1.5-2.5 times. This is due to the fact that owners of expensive cars are more often willing to overpay for original spare parts and dealers use this. In addition, you will have to pay more for service stations – they have risen in price by 2.5 times. That is, in total, repairs have risen in price several times.
The main reason for the price jump is the lack of auto parts in the Russian Federation. Most of all, the cost of those components that cannot be replaced by non-original analogues has increased – body parts and complex electronics. They have to be imported semi-legally, resorting to parallel imports.
The situation on the market is unlikely to improve in the near future. Experts predict that spare parts will definitely not become cheaper, although the rate of price growth may slow down.
