The SWM Big Tiger Edi is equipped with a 1.5 liter petrol engine and an electric motor. It can travel 51 km on electric traction, and a full tank of fuel is enough for 1000 km.
Italian-Chinese company SWM presented the Big Tiger Edi budget crossover. It will go on sale at a price of 100,000 yuan ($14,750). This is reported by the site CarNewsChina.
Until 2014, only motorcycles were produced under the SWM brand, but then it was bought by the Chinese company Shineray. Now cars have appeared in the SWM line, and they are produced in collaboration with Brilliance.
The SWM Big Tiger Edi family crossover features an angular design. It has vertical rear pillars, a high window line, massive bumpers and a narrow grille. The size of the car is comparable to the Skoda Kodiaq.
SWM Big Tiger Edi dimensions:
- Length – 4605 mm
- Width – 1815 mm
- Height – 1825mm
- Wheelbase – 2780mm
- Clearance – 195mm
Versions for 5 and 7 seats will be offered to choose from. The crossover received a digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen multimedia display. With the rear seats folded down, you can carry loads up to 1.85 m long.
In the hybrid setup, the main role is played by a 143-horsepower electric motor – it is he who rotates the wheels. The battery charge is enough to drive 51 km on electric traction. Then a 1.5-liter gasoline engine-generator is connected to generate electricity. On one tank of fuel, SWM Big Tiger Edi can travel 1000 km.
