Mathieu Bonneau, who is 38 years old, was arrested on October 27 by agents of the Laval Police Service (SPL) who had received the ;help from colleagues from the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ). The offenses alleged against the suspect occurred in recent years. Although he lives in Quebec, Mathieu Bonneau would have indulged in sexual touching of minors during visits to Laval, according to what the Laval police believe. The suspect has been a teacher in the Quebec region for more than ten years and investigators believe that he could have caused other victims. They are invited to contact the police. Mathieu Bonneau is notably accused of sexual touching of a person under the age of 16 and sexual assault. He was released following his appearance in court, but he must respect certain conditions. His case will return to the Court of Quebec on next December 19. Since several victims have been identified, the structure for managing investigations into serial crimes (GECS), coordinated by the Sûreté du Quebec (SQ), was deployed.
