A little girl found a nail in the portion of fries she ordered at McDonald's. The restaurant manager didn't want to reimburse the father. So the father decided to post a photo on X on Friday, January 31, 2025 to alert the fast-food chain.
A father, having ordered takeaway from McDonald’s in Éragny-sur-Oise (Val-d’Oise), discovered a nail in a packet of fries, he reported in a post on X, Friday January 31, 2025.

It was his daughter's portion, and it was her daughter who warned him by noticing “something weird”, this police officer told BFMTV. When inspecting the bag, the father actually found a nail several centimeters long.
A strange discovery
The man then decided to return to McDonald's to report this strange discovery and ask for a refund for the portion. However, the manager of the establishment, “very unpleasant”, categorically refused, considering that the restaurant was not responsible and judging “improbable that a nail would go through the frying”.
The object, “greasy and black from frying”, prompted the father to alert McDonald's by posting a message on X, along with a photo of the object. “My daughter could have been hurt and the least we can do is listen to customers who are faced with this kind of situation!”, the customer lamented. Despite an internal investigation launched by McDonald's, the chain specified that no malfunction or “non-conformity” had been observed in the restaurant.
However, the company is continuing its investigations, while it has not responded to the customer on X.
