At least, since the “Charlie” controversy, Miss France 2025 has been receiving many hate messages, which does not reassure him at all. “I am worried about the security (…) She was completely taken aback by this question and went into automatic mode as she was asked not to express herself as Miss France on political and religious subjects.” he declared in the columns of Le Parisien.

As a reminder, on January 8, 2025, Angélique Angarni-Filopon was the guest of the Sud Radio station. During her visit, she was questioned on “the right to blasphemy in France” following the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine. But the 34-year-old beauty queen refused to answer, preferring to remain silent. She thought that this would avoid any controversy but in the end, the opposite happened.

A few heres later, the one who succeeded Eve Gilles had spoken to clarify that her position had been “clumsy” but that as Miss France she had to remain neutral “to avoid any misunderstandings and cause controversy”. “But I understand that my non-reaction on such a sensitive subject could have raised so many comments” she had added. The company Miss France also broke her silence. “Obviously, it would be an aberration to think that she could endorse such barbaric acts” she had declared, adding that Angélie Angarni-Filopon condemned “firmly these terrorist acts“.

Following the controversy, the satirical daily was quick to react. The journalist and cartoonist Juin had in fact published a caricature where we see three angry mullahs brandishing placards with the inscription:  “I am Miss France”.  “Miss France is not Charlie!”, we can read in the caption of the illustration.
