Shooting in Fredericton: Police are actively looking for a man on the loose

Fredericton Police Major Crime Unit is investigating the case.

Fredericton Police Force has issued a warrant for the arrest of Jacob James Phillips, 21, of Fredericton. The individual has been on the loose for nearly a week and faces four charges related to the shooting that allegedly injured a person on November 7.

That day, Fredericton Police Force responded to a call on Riverside Drive where a woman reported being shot in the leg.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Police believe it was not a random act.

Jacob James Phillips is charged with intentionally discharging a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, aggravated assault and breach of recognizance.

The wanted individual is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has short, dark hair and a dark goatee.
