The fact is that the hormones produced by the thyroid gland affect metabolism and regulate energy production. If the function of the thyroid gland is reduced, the body temperature will decrease, and if it is increased, it will increase.
To conduct the test, you will only need a thermometer and 10 minutes of free time in the morning. For the test, it is better to use a regular mercury thermometer to measure the basal temperature, because it is more sensitive and therefore more accurate.
Technique of the test:
Prepare the thermometer the night before: the mark on the device before the measurement should not exceed 35°C. It is important that the thermometer is at such a distance that you can reach it without getting out of bed.

There is another version of the test with the use of iodine. It involves applying three iodine lines 1, 2, and 4 mm wide on the inside of the forearm before going to bed.
If only two wider lines remain in the morning, while the thinnest one completely disappears or is almost invisible, the level of iodine in the body in normal.
If one broadest line remains, this may indicate problems with the thyroid gland.

How to check the thyroid gland using water and a mirror?
The water and mirror test helps to detect abnormal thyroid size:
