A few weeks after the broadcast of season 4 of Stranger Things on Netflix, an actress talks about her somewhat complicated audition.
If we had to remember only one single scene from the final season of Stranger Things, what are you thinking?
Many of us would certainly respond to Sadie Sink's (aka Max Mayfield) clash with the filthy Vecna, then her frantic race to find her friends while the world is collapsing around her… All, of course, to music by Kate Bush that the series has rehabilitated in a rather incredible way . Sadie Sink has become a real star this season and yet the actress almost never appeared in the Netflix series.
This anecdote, the actress told it at Fashion Magazine, a Canadian lifestyle magazine. Initially, the team of the series was hesitant to hire her because they found her a little too old – 14 years old – to interpret this role. “I begged and begged for more material…so I could show them something new, the actress defended, this role, it seemed perfect for me.”
Finally, the Duffer brothers agreed to see her interact with several other actors and the current passed very well between them and two of her main acting partners: Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas). The next day, she learned that the role was for her.
Since her performance in the fourth season of Stranger Things, Sadie Sink has appeared everywhere and multiplied interviews. In the cinema, she will soon be playing Dear Zoe, a drama family announced for the end of 2022. She will also soon play the role of Brendan Fraser in The Whale, the next film by Darren Aronofsky whose first surprising image was unveiled last week. Initially scheduled for 2022 ( we ranked it among our most anticipated films of the year), the film will finally be released on February 23, 2023.
