In Russia began to block Telegram - Russian media

on the basis of the article on information, information technologies and information protection.

Roskomnadzor restricted access to the t.me domain of the Telegram messenger. This was reported by TASS on Saturday evening, October 29.

It is noted that access to the page was restricted at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

According to Russian Telegram channels, the social network was blocked on the basis of Article 15.3 of the Federal Law On information, information technology and information protection. This rule allows the blocking of sites that, according to the Russian authorities, contain information “with calls for mass riots, extremist activities” or “informational materials of a foreign or international non-governmental organization whose activities are recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

As you know, the t.me domain is used in links to groups and users in the Telegram messenger.
