Tennis: Müller, last Frenchman competing in Rome, knocks down Rublev

Alexandre Müller, the last Frenchman competing in the Masters 1000 in Rome, won the title. the most resounding victory of his career against the Russian Andrey Rublev, 6th in the world, to reach the round of 16.

Muller, from the qualifications, won 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the 3rd round.

The Frenchman 27 years old, 109th in the world, had never before beaten players belonging to the top 20 in the world. He will face the Italian Stefano Napolitano (125th) or the Chilean Nicolas Jarry (24th) in the round of 16.

“It's incredible, I didn't expect win, I knew I had my chances but it's very special to beat Andrey”, he explained.

“I changed my tactics in the 2nd set, I found the right tactics to beat him today”, he rejoiced.
