Tesla Semi was presented back in November 2017, but only now the electric car has entered production. At first, only the top version of the truck with a range of 800 km will be produced.
The Tesla Semi electric truck has entered mass production. The first cars will be delivered to PepsiCo on December 1. Elon Musk wrote about this on his Twitter.
PepsiCo ordered a hundred Tesla Semi. In total, the electric truck collected about 750 pre-orders. Other buyers include the Walmart hypermarket chain, Anheuser-Busch InBev brewing corporation, DHL and FedEx delivery services. They have not yet been informed about the supply of cars.
The top version of Tesla Semi 2023 for $180,000, equipped with four electric motors, was the first to be produced. It is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 20 with a semi-trailer weighing 36 tons and in 5 seconds without it. The range is 800 km, and fast charging to 70% takes about half an hour.
The base Tesla Semi electric car will also be offered later for $150,000. He is able to drive 480 km without recharging. Among the features of the Tesla Semi 2023 are the driver's seat in the center of the cabin and two large displays on the front panel.
