For fans of the good old movie “Taxi 2”
To fans of the good old the movie “Taxi 2” The protagonist's Peugeot 406, equipped with tracks instead of wheels, seemed like a complete fantasy. Nevertheless, recently the topic has become extremely popular: relatively recently, Renault delighted fans with a tracked version of Duster, and Nissan equipped its second model with such a design. Earlier, the Juke Nismo was transplanted to the track, and now a similar modification of the Rogue model, known in the European market under the name X-Trail, was presented. The presentation of the car has already taken place in Montreal.
We are talking about a concept that, most likely, will not be able to be mass-produced. Nevertheless, the practicality of the machine in certain conditions is undeniable. In order to install the towerless Dominator Track System crawler drive, certain changes had to be made to the body structure. As a result, the car's ground clearance increased to 58 centimeters. Of course, at the same time, the tracked Nissan received an improved suspension.
At the same time, the power plant and transmission did not undergo modernization. The car, named Rogue Warrior, is equipped with a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter engine combined with an Xtronic variator. After modernization, the maximum speed is limited to 100 km/h. But now the “Canadian X-Trail” can drive on snow 40 centimeters deep and overcome a rise at an angle of 45 degrees.
