How to choose your smartphone?

Before buying, we have listed the main points to pay attention to:

  • Screen size: In recent years, smartphone screens have become larger and larger. Some models reach 7 inches. Several possibilities are available to you: a model between 4.5 and 5 inches to be able to store it easily in a pocket during the day, between 5 and 6 inches for better comfort of use or a smartphone with a screen of at least 6 inches to make the most of videos or photos. It is important to test the grip before purchasing.
  • Screen resolution: This parameter will define the visual quality of your screen. The higher the number of pixels, the sharper the image will be. It is necessary to take into account the density of the pixels, calculated according to the size of the screen. This is a very important criterion if you use the photo and video mode a lot. To judge the quality of the screen, you can see if it’s an LCD, Oled, Amoled or Retina screen.
  • Operating system: Do you prefer Apple iOS or Android. These are the two operating systems that exist today, iOS for iPhones and Android for others. This is an important choice because it will determine the catalog of applications available on your mobile phone. The Android system is wider than that of Apple at present.
  • Power: The type of processor will determine the power of your phone. A processor is defined by 3 parameters: the number of cores, the frequency and the RAM. The more powerful the processor, the more you can perform tasks simultaneously, consume video streams, play online, the smoother it will be.
  • Camera: The performance of mobile phone cameras is changing very quickly, which is why you must first check the quality of the photo sensor, which will determine the level of the camera. It will allow you to vary the angles and the shots to offer the best possible photo quality. There are new features every year (HDR function, panorama mode, triple sensor, wide-angle mode, …), the photo has become an essential criterion. Almost all phones over $500 have dual rear cameras and a telephoto lens.
  • Storage: This is the amount of storage your phone gives you. It depends on you and your needs, for example if you need to store a lot of photos. Models generally range from 16GB up to 512GB. It is best to opt for a smartphone with at least 64GB or 128GB of storage.
  • Autonomy: For maximum comfort of use, it is advisable to choose a battery of at least 4000 mAh. Of course, the battery level will depend on how much time you spend on your phone, what apps you use. But all smartphones do not have the same autonomy at the start, it can almost vary from simple to double between certain models.
  • Price of telephones: The prices of smartphones vary between 50€ and 2000€, depending on the brands, the year of release, the performance, the design. For less than 200€, there are models that cover basic needs, they will be more limited for photo and video. Between 200€ and 500€, you will find complete smartphones, which compete with high-end phones on certain points. From 500€, all models are of good quality, the choice will be made according to your criteria and the performance specific to each smartphone. For example, it is possible to have a smartphone equipped with a very good camera for 600€. From 1000€, you will have a high-performance phone with a very high definition screen, an excellent camera, resistant materials and impressive performance.
