Buck Moon was named by the Algonquin tribes because in July the young deer usually show off their antlers. However, the July full moon is also known by other names, including the Thunder Moon, due to the seasonal storms that often occur in July. However, whatever you want to call it, the upcoming full moon is the biggest supermoon of 2022.

So you won't want to miss it. Buck Supermoon will be visible in the sky when it reaches its maximum point on Wednesday, July 13th. NASA reports that the moon will appear full for about three days. This spectacle will begin early in the morning on July 12 and will last until the early morning of July 15.

If you want to see the biggest supermoon of 2022, all you have to do is go outside on July 13 in the afternoon. You will be able to see the moon best when it rises around your location. This usually happens about 90 minutes before sunset.

What is a supermoon?

As the biggest supermoon of 2022, Buck Moon is more than just another full moon. In fact, this is the fullest and largest moon that we will see this year. The term “supermoon” was first coined in 1979. A supermoon occurs when a full moon reaches perigee, which is the point in the moon's orbit when it is closest to Earth.

Because it's so close, supermoons often appear brighter, larger, and fuller than a normal full moon. We've already experienced a couple of supermoons this year. As noted by NASA, all major publications agree that the Buck Moon is the biggest supermoon of 2022.

Don't forget to get outside to take a look at the supermoon. And try to follow the photos and images of this amazing event on social networks.
