Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke at the Austrian World Summit in Vienna. He urged European countries to stop buying Russian energy resources, calling it financing Russia's military operations in Ukraine, Meduza reports.
“No matter what you think about it, we have blood on our hands because we are funding the war. You don't have to lie to yourself. We already have what it takes to move away from fossil fuels. And now there is a moral duty to use these technologies”, – Schwarzenegger said.
According to him, in the first two months of hostilities, the Russian army fired 1,300 missiles at Ukraine worth 7.7 billion euros, while Europe paid Moscow for oil and gas over the same period a total of 44 billion euros.
He noted that although the aggressor country loses equipment, soldiers, tanks and aircraft – she “does not pay for this war.”
“They say to themselves: the Europeans send us money, they pay for this war,” the actor specified.
“We are indebted to the Ukrainian children who grow up in bomb shelters,” Schwarzenegger summed up and called on European countries to abandon fossil fuels, noting that now there is all the necessary technology for this.
