The Boys: Vought University Spin-Off Will Tie Into Amazon Season 3

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed that the upcoming Amazon Prime Video spin-off, The Boys Presents: Varsity, will be in connection with recent events in season 3.

Season 3 of The Boysis over, but before The Protector (Antony Starr) and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) get back on their feet in Season 4, the universe adapted from the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson will expand with a new spin. -off. After the animated anthology series The Boys: Diabolical – which should also return with new episodes – Amazon Prime Video will broadcast the series The Boys Presents: Varsity dedicated to the unique American university for young superheroes directed by Vought.

The goal is to explore the lives of these unusual students who all compete and test their physical, sexual and moral limits in the hope of landing the best contracts.

The reunion of the alumni students

The series has was announced in September 2020, but remained blocked for a long time in its development between the pandemic, the change of showrunner, the rewrites and the departure of several actors. Production officially kicked off last May and more recently The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke gave more plot details in an interviewgranted to Deadline. He thus confirmed that this new spin-off piloted by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters will have as a backdrop the events of the recent season 3:

There will definitely be a crossover and we're doing our best to create a universe where some of the issues and plotlines from season 3 [of The Boys] carry over into season one of Varsity. For example, there is a presidential campaign going on in the background of this season, and there are certain things happening at this school in reaction to The Boys season 3. There's Soldier Boy, but also new storylines that unfold in this first season that will be carried over to The Boys Season 4.”

The role of Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) should therefore evolve in the background before being treated more frontally in season 4, while the return of Soldier Boy or the conflict between Stella and the Protector should at least be mentioned by the students.

The series should also bring back some familiar faces, likely alumni like A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and The Deep (Chace Crawford), unless the Protector invites himself to the prom for a cameo. This new story of super deviants will also be carried by a new cast composed mainly of little-known actors: Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Chance Perdomo (After: Chapter 3 and 4), Lizze Broadway (Here and Now), Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann (Caviar) and Shelley Conn ( The Bridgerton Chronicle).
