The Prodrive P25 is an improved copy of the famous 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STI coupe worth $560,000. Externally, a modern car exactly repeats the Impreza, but received a carbon body and a new 400-horsepower turbo engine.
The first photos of the Prodrive P25 got on the Internet. The car is a modern version of the iconic Subaru Impreza STI first generation coupe. This is reported by Autocar.
The new Prodrive P25 will be officially presented at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood, UK. Shortly thereafter, 25 cars will be produced at a price of $560,000. That's a lot, but the original 1998 Subaru Impreza coupes are almost as expensive.
In appearance, the new Subaru Impreza 22B STI is practically no different from the original, except that it is slightly wider and has 19-inch wheels. At the same time, the hood, fenders, trunk and roof are carbon fiber, which will allow for a weight of 1200 kg.
The interior of the Prodrive P25 has not yet been declassified, but it is known that leather and Alcantara are used in the decoration. Sports seats with a carbon fiber frame will also be installed.
The modern Subaru Impreza 22B STI will get a boxer 2.5-liter 400-horsepower turbo engine based on the Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ engine. A choice of 6-speed manual and sequential gearboxes will be offered. In both cases, a Launch control system is provided and acceleration to 100 km/h will take about 3.5 seconds.
Naturally, the Prodrive P25 will be all-wheel drive. The coupe will get a sports suspension and AP Racing brakes with a diameter of 380 mm in front and 350 mm in the rear.
Subaru coupe The 1998 Impreza 22B is now a cult model. A charged two-door version was created specifically for the model to be allowed to rally and was released in a limited edition of 424 cars and is now very much appreciated by collectors. By the way, it was the British company Prodrive that prepared the coupe for the competition.
