Tony Garnett had a successful business – he ran a security company that brought a steady income. But the hype in the media about his relationship with a Ukrainian woman beat off all the clients.
29-year-old Briton Tony Garnett, who left his wife to connect his life with the Ukrainian refugee Sophia Karkadym, soon told that he had lost his job and “turned out to zero.” The sad story of a Briton who sheltered a refugee from Lviv is reported by the British edition of the Daily Star.
Tony told reporters that his financial problems began immediately after the media hype arose because of his affair with a Ukrainian woman. As it turned out, British society expressed dissatisfaction with the act of a man who began a romantic relationship with a refugee living in the home of the Garnett couple.
According to the impoverished man, before meeting Sophia, he had a successful business – he ran a security company that brought in a steady income. But after his relationship with a Ukrainian refugee became the focus of world media attention, his clients began to conclude contracts with his firm less and less.
In addition, Tonny had contracts with the National Health Service of England (NHS), which he subsequently lost due to the fact that journalists and paparazzi appeared at his workplace, harassing health officials.
“I used to have a very successful business. I dedicated myself to it, in some weeks I worked more than 80 hours a week. From time to time I send staff to pubs and clubs, but since then I was earning almost 2 thousand a week , now I earn god knows what,” admitted Tonny.
The man also said that he did not want to sit on benefits and was trying to make ends meet because he had to take care of Sophia.
As a result, for some time the couple lived on the money paid by the newspapers. But now these funds are at zero – Tony could not even put furniture in the rented apartment in which he now lives with Sophia.
“I lived on the money that the newspapers paid me. I maxed out credit cards , and family members helped me,” he added.
In the future, Tony plans to make music and try to earn money from it. He is even going to write a song based on his relationship with Sofia called “Ukraine to UK Rain”. The lyrics already include the lyrics: “Now I'm with a blonde, but yes, my ex was a brunette. Was I supposed to stay there just to be with my kids? No thanks, not today.”
Sofia Karkadym told Focus her story of her relationship with Briton Tony Garnett. According to her, Tony's wife, Lorna, was aggressive towards the Ukrainian woman, and at one point, Tony, unable to withstand such an atmosphere in the house, decided to leave home with Sophia.
