Alexandra LEVIT, “FACTS” (Odessa)
Since June 30 ceases to operate a Museum of smuggling, which opened in 2014 in the historical center of Odessa. After all, where else can you be such a Museum, not in the port city. Even the famous authors of “Twelve chairs” Ilf and Petrov by the mouth of his hero Ostap Bender claimed that “all hell to do in Odessa on Malaya Arnautskaya street”.
During the opening ceremony in 2014, the Museum collection consisted of about 200 items. Now they are much more.
— Under the law we are not permitted to exhibit objects that were in the materials of criminal cases and were in the archives. But can use identical. However, most of the exhibits are originals, — told the Creator of the Museum and its main guide Alexander Separately. — Anyone can learn how sometimes “exclusive” means baggage (or just tried to smuggle) goods businessmen from different countries and at different times…
Note, over the years, wanting to learn from the experiences of savvy smugglers were tens of thousands. And here is a sad news that the Museum closes.
There are both objective and subjective reasons, — says Alexander Separately. — Me and my team incredibly sad and hard. I sincerely thank all guests and dozens of people who unselfishly helped all these years to the Museum and to me personally! I want to believe that someone will wish to proceed with the case. Enjoy the concept of the Museum and methodologies.
