EU will allocate 25 million euros for the Ukrainian energy sector

Western partners are ready to provide Ukraine needs equipment to support the Ukrainian energy system.

The European Union will allocate 25.5 million euros to Ukraine to support the energy system, as well as provide energy equipment. The corresponding decision was made by the European Commission on Tuesday, November 1, reported on the official website of the organization.

In addition, the EU called for increased support for the energy sector of Ukraine.

“Russia is intensively and precisely attacking the energy Ukraine's infrastructure, in recent weeks and months this has affected 30% of the country's energy system. The EU and its member states have supplied Ukraine with millions of euros worth of energy equipment, but the level of support must be urgently increased,” the statement said.

It is noted that in the coming days, the European Commission, together with the Ministry of Energy, will launch a targeted campaign to mobilize further support.

The day before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. They discussed further steps to ensure Ukraine's energy security and strengthen energy sanctions against the Russian Federation.
