Ukrainians in the EU will be able to use an expired or old driver's license. In case of loss of rights, you can get a temporary document without passing exams.
The European Union introduced preferences for citizens of Ukraine, expanding the possibilities of using a driver's license. The new rules come into effect on July 23. This is reported by the website of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The EU regulation specifies the rules for Ukrainian refugees whose driver's license is expired, stolen or lost. They were met and allowed to:
- Use a Ukrainian driver's license without the need to exchange them for the entire period of stay under temporary protection in the EU (previously it was allowed for 6 months);
- Use an old Ukrainian driver's license, with inscriptions only in Cyrillic and without an expiration date. In this case, you do not need to have an additionally certified translation or an international driver's license;
- Use a Ukrainian driver's license if it expires (this is true for licenses issued to novice drivers for the first time for 2 years);
< li>Get a temporary (for the period of stay under EU protection) EU driver's license in case of loss or theft of a Ukrainian driver's license without passing exams. In this case, it is enough to check the validity of the license, as well as check the driver for compliance with the standards of physical and mental fitness for driving.
