A tuned Ford Mustang became the hero of the famous film Outlaw with Jean-Paul Belmondo in the title role. The car was remembered for its spectacular chase scene.
In France, a 1966 Ford Mustang was put up for auction by Artcurial. For the car plan to help out from 200,000 to 400,000 euros. The history of the car was told on the website of the auction house.
Classic first-generation Ford Mustangs are popular with collectors, but they tend to be cheaper. Only rare and exclusive versions of the model are so expensive.
This tuned coupe is notable for being featured in the famous 1983 film Le Marginal starring Jean-Paul Belmondo. In the story, the famous actor plays a successful police officer who often resorts to harsh and illegal methods of fighting crime.
Among other things, the film was remembered for its spectacular chase: the hero Belmondo in a Ford Mustang pursues drug mafia killers. The scene became a reference to the famous chase from the cult movie Bullitt with Steve McQueen.
For filming, they created two of these Ford Mustangs with a 4.7-liter 271-horsepower V8. They were lowered, the optics were replaced, the fenders were widened and huge tires were installed. The cars were painted green, just like the cars of Steve McQueen.
The stunts were staged by the famous stuntman Remy Julien. The film mentioned that the car was armored, but in fact there was no protection and one car was smashed.
The second copy was bought by one of the members of the film crew, but later the Mustang ended up in a landfill. It was found and restored to its original state.
