Former Slovakia defender marián Čišovský has died at the age of 40 after six years of struggle with incurable amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which causes muscle weakness throughout the body, announced on Sunday, June 28, his former Czech club “Victoria”.
“Today is the saddest day. With a heavy heart we must announce that Marian Čišovský forever left us,” — said on the page of FC “Victoria” in Facebook and Twitter.
Čišovský three times (in 2000, 2001 and 2008) champion of Slovakia with Bratislava inter and his successor, FC “Armedia petržalka”.
After three years of stay in Romanian “Politehnica” (Timisoara) he moved to “Victoria” which in 2013 won the “gold” of the championship of the Czech Republic.
In 2014, Marian Čišovský, whose assets 15 matches in the national team of Slovakia retired because of illness, but all these years, remained part of the club of Pilsen. In particular, the “Victoria” kept his name in the team roster on its official website. In addition, the participant of Olympic games in Sydney took part in the celebrations when Plzenec won the championship title in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
Marian Čišovský is survived by his wife and three children.
Earlier, the “FACTS” reported that the former Barcelona coach Juan Carlos Unzue told about his terminal illness.
