The government has announced a freeze on electricity prices. There will be a limit on the consumption of electricity. Will the Poles manage to fit in it?
Is the limit of electricity consumption met by the government?
According to the portal “Super ExpresS”, Mateusz Morawiecki presented a project of a solidarity shield, which also includes freezing electricity prices. However, this freeze is to apply up to the limit of 2000 kWh of electricity consumption per year. Many people wonder if such a limit is realistic to meet?
Guaranteed electricity price
According to the data provided by the Central Statistical Office, the average electricity consumption in 2020 in households was 1996 kWh. The averaged readings differ in the case of households in towns and villages. The former consumed an average of 1,752.7 kWh, while the latter consumed 2,486.2 kWh.
According to the assumptions presented by Prime Minister Morawiecki, the freezing of energy prices would apply to those whose annual consumption will not exceed 2,000 kWh. A slightly higher consumption limit is provided for people with disabilities, families with at least three children, as well as for farmers – in their case the limit is 2600 kWh.
“Within the limits of 2000 kWh, even a family of three can fit, but rather in an apartment, not at home and without remote work” – said Daniel Czyżewski from the “Energetyka 24” portal in an interview with “Super Express”.
These people have to reckon with exceeding the limit
People who heat their homes with a heat pump or other heating devices that operate electric.
Those who cook on electric cookers must also take into account the possibility of exceeding the limit set by the government. Unfortunately, the same prolem will affect patients who use specialized medical equipment at home.
Do you think you will be able to fit within the limit?
