According to the portal “Interia”, on June 27 there was an announcement by the head of the Ministry of Health, in which he informs about drugs that can be obtained in pharmacies, which may be a big problem for patients. Among the products at risk of unavailability in Poland, there are drugs for patients with diabetes, asthma, thrombosis, as well as milk replacers for infants. What products are on the list?
Not for the first time
Unfortunately, a situation where patients suffering from chronic diseases have problems accessing medicines. w, is not the first. Many patients had to look for drugs outside their place of residence in order not to interrupt their treatment. The list presented by the Ministry of Health is extremely extensive.
Difficulties will affect patients with diabetes, because the list includes as many as 16 insulin preparations. Unfortunately, in many cases, it will be necessary for the treating physician to change the medication taken in order to avoid interruptions in treatment and an exacerbation of the disease.
The problem will also affect people treating for thrombosis. Two drugs containing low molecular weight heparins (Clexane and Fraxiparine) are at risk of unavailability. These preparations are used both in deep vein thrombosis and prophylactically, when the patient has a cast on or has undergone a procedure that requires temporary immobilization.
The problems will not be bypassed also people who are treating bronchial asthma. The list of drugs at risk of unavailability includes drugs in which the active substance is budesonide, fenoterol or ipratropium bromide. The deficiencies may concern both inhaler medications, as well as powders or nebulizing solutions.
Parents of infants with food allergies will also face a serious problem. Two popular milk replacers are on the list of drugs at risk of unavailability.
