The classic Chevrolet 3100 pickup from the early 50s has been given a second life. Retro cars are preparing to return to production, but already in the format of an electric car. This is reported by the Carscoops website.
Chevrolet 3100 is being converted into electric cars by Kindred Motorworks, California. Instead of a gasoline V8, the pickup was equipped with a 295-horsepower electric motor on the rear axle.
The 60 kWh battery provides a range of 320 km. Charging an electric car from the home electrical network takes about 9 hours.
Chevrolet 3100 tuning did not cost one replacement of the power unit. The pickup truck received a new spring suspension, electric power steering and disc brakes. A car is recognized by modern LED optics.
The interior of the Chevrolet 3100 is trimmed with leather, and a touch-screen display of the multimedia system appeared on the front panel. In addition, keyless entry, power windows, heated seats, a powerful audio system with a subwoofer and wireless charging for smartphones have been added to the package. A socket for connecting electrical appliances appeared in the body.
Chevrolet 3100 electric car will enter production from 2024. You can buy a pickup truck at a price of $159,000.
