Tourists were offered a free holiday in the Italian region Molise, located two hours away from Rome.

According to the tabloid, travelers will be able to arrive in Molise with their families and during the week to reside in vacant homes and villas with two, three or four bedrooms.
As noted, a campaign called Regalati il Molise (“Give yourself Molise”) launched at the initiative of the city hall in partnership with the cultural Association Amici Del Morrutto. In the framework of its implementation, tourists are invited 40 of free vouchers which will be valid in the period from 4 July to 3 October.
In order to become a member, you must fill out a special application in the Italian language where to point the reason of his desire to go to Molise.
In the region, inviting tourists, has a total of 305 thousand inhabitants. Local activist Enzo Luongo (Enzo Luongo), who became one of the sponsors, told reporters that many homes empty for years are due to the fact that their hosts are moved to the “more affluent areas”.
“It’s beautiful but deserted villages, where no tourist accommodation. So we thought: how can we encourage people to come here in difficult times, when tourism is at a record low level?” — he said, adding that the region managed to keep low for Italy, the incidence of coronavirus.
In November last year it was reported that the authorities of the Sicilian town of Cammarata decided to attract new residents by offering them a free house. According to the mayor Giambrone Vincenzo (Vincenzo Giambrone), measures have been taken to ensure that the city “has not disappeared”: the journeys of local residents to the big cities, its population has decreased to six thousand people.
