As the portal “Jastrząb Post” reminds, Jerzy Połomski passed away on November 14 this year. On Wednesday, September 23, in the morning hours, mourning ceremonies began. The last farewell to the artist was attended not only by his relatives, but also by friends from the stage and loyal fans.
Jerzy Połomski died in the hospital on November 14. The news of his unexpected passing was a huge shock to everyone. The sad news was confirmed by Połomski's agent – Violetta Lewandowska, who took care of him in the last years of his life.
The artist never started a family and took care of his resting place on his own. Some time ago he bought a place in Aleja Zasłużonych in Warsaw's Old Powązki. This summer, Jerzy Połomski's older sister, Jadwiga Pająk, was buried in this grave.
As reported by the “Fakt” portal, at the moment the grave in which the urn with Jerzy Połomski's ashes rests is “covered with a makeshift plate”.

Funeral services began at 11:30 a.m. at St. Cross at Krakowskie Przedmieście. Jerzy Połomski's last farewell had a state character. Military guards kept watch at the urn with Połomski's ashes. There were also wreaths from the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, and Piotr Gliński, the head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
At 1:30 pm, the urn with the ashes of the legendary artist was placed in the grave. Among the mourners there were, among others, the presidents of the Association of Polish Stage Artists Krzysztof Szuster, Andrzej Rosiewicz, Czesław Majewski, as well as the actress Maja Komorowska. “He touched and entertained Poles for decades,” said the priest, recalling Jerzy Połomski.
