There are 50 restaurants on the list in 24 countries on five continents. There are both old-timers of the list and 12 new positions.
There are restaurants from Europe, South America, USA, China and of course Japan. They were chosen for the originality of the menu, the general atmosphere and, of course, the taste of the dishes served. Moreover, they got into the rating as restaurants serving meat dishes, for example, the Brazilian A Casa do Porco in Sao Paulo, which took seventh place in the ranking and whose chef, Jefferson Rueda, is famous for using the entire pork carcass in his dishes, and the Italian restaurant Reale. He took 15th place in the ranking, and his chef Niko Romito pays attention to plant foods.

” Pujol”, Mexico
Fifth place was taken by the restaurant “Pujol”, which is located in Mexico City. It is run by two chefs Enrique Olvera and Jesus Duron. The best Mexican cuisine is served here. But it is especially famous for the Mexican sauce Mole Madre, Mole Nuevo, which is served with poultry, meat, vegetables, enchiladas or simply with tortilla. And it consists of many ingredients and seasonings that each chef mixes according to his own, secret recipe.
It is distinguished by an incredibly complex and multifaceted taste. And the composition may include: several types of chili peppers; a combination of sesame seeds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds and almonds; many herbs and spices such as thyme, marjoram, anise, coriander, allspice, cloves, cinnamon and black peppercorns; tomatoes; onion and garlic; raisins or other dried fruits; chicken bouillon; and cocoa.
In fourth place is the Diverxo restaurant, which is located in Madrid, Spain. Chef Dabiz Munoz's restaurant is known for its menu of eccentric flavors. Its 12-course tasting menu introduces diners to innovative Asian dishes such as Cantonese sea noodles with eel stew and hare katsu sando (Japanese meat sandwich) with brioche bun. The restaurant serves Iberian and Asian fusion cuisine.
So guests can choose between Carrot Dim Sum and Black Sesame Brioches with Pigskin, Salmon Roe and Cherry Sauce. For dessert, the chef recommends strawberry mousse with white chocolate and chili sauce.
In third place was another restaurant from Spain, a Barcelona-based establishment called Disfrutar. At Disfrutar, three chefs at once work in the kitchen: Oriol Castro, Mateu Casañas and Eduard Xatruh, who previously worked at the elBulli restaurant. ElBulli has three Michelin stars and is considered by many critics to be the best in the world. They opened their restaurant in 2014 and now serve authentic Spanish-inspired dishes.
“Disfrutar” specializes in molecular cuisine. The “classic” 19-course menu costs 150 euros, while the extravagant 28-course menu called “Disfrutar Festival” costs 190 euros. They serve open ravioli with oysters and soybeans, pistachio eel pesto, and walnut fudge with whiskey jelly.
Critics put the Peruvian restaurant Central, which is located in Lima, in second place. Headed by chefs Virgilio Martinez and Pia Leon, Central is an ode to Peru in all its forms.
Recognized as South America's Best Restaurant of 2022, Central Restaurant serves the best land and sea has to offer, with scallops, squid and shellfish delivered fresh from the coast and the Amazon, and a meat menu featuring pork belly and tender goat meat.
But in the first place was a restaurant from Europe. Geranium is a well-known gourmet establishment in Copenhagen. Chef Rasmus Kofoed and restaurateur Seren Ledet make each of their guests feel at home. The menu includes dishes from such original ingredients as smoked caviar, wild mushrooms, pickled hops, as well as banal cabbage and apples, from which chefs create a real miracle.
Restaurant Geranium, which took first place in this year's list, is recognized as the best restaurant in Europe and the best restaurant in the world in 2022.
