La Poste de Frontignan centre.
Des habitants de Frontignan et notamment du secteur de La Peyrade expriment leur insatisfaction de recevoir tardivement leur courrier parfois 10 à 15 jours après l’envoi. La Poste leur répond.
Monique, a 71-year-old retiree, has been waiting for her mutual insurance card for two weeks. She needs this document for her medical examinations. So she called her mutual insurance company. The pension fund told her that her card had been sent to her since January 6, 2025. Another situation, that of this association manager. He has been waiting for his checkbooks for two weeks. There is also Viviane (1). She still has not received her bank card that her sister sent her from Bouches-du-Rhône. The list of complainants does not stop at these three homes.
“For several months, many La Poste users have noticed an irregularity in the delivery of their mail”, declares Jean-Louis Bonneric, municipal councilor in charge of citizenship. This communist figure from Frontignan also fervently defends the public postal service. “In some cases, the mailboxes of local residents remain empty for between 10 and 15 days,” he insists. Jean-Louis Bonneric is also one of the people who are making their dissatisfaction heard. Most of them live in the La Peyrade district. “That's my case,” emphasizes the elected official.
According to the city councilor, “the management of La Poste favors the distribution of advertising material to the detriment of packages and mail. The problem today is the malfunctioning mail delivery,” he insists. Monique, the retired septuagenarian, does not hide her disappointment. This time, it is about a package that her daughter had sent her for Mother's Day. “I never received it.”Another dissatisfied user is this retiree aged over 70. He regrets: “It's also annoying for those who subscribe to newspapers or magazines. When the news arrives late in the mailbox, the events they announce in Frontignan have already passed.”
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000“Today, La Poste provides other missions related to personal services, observes Jean-Louis Bonneric. It passes the highway code. In Frontignan, La Poste distributes meals.” This diversification does not arouse enthusiasm among Émeric Bazalgette, union representative at La Poste and general secretary of the union CGT of the federation of postal and telecommunications activities of Hérault. “We are doing reorganizations with the sole aim of increasing profitability and cutting payroll.”
The unionist nevertheless concedes a structural decline in mail volume. But Émeric Bazalgette remains extremely reserved about this diversification strategy. “The highway code and home meal delivery are a bad example because these are employees who are deployed on these activities, when it is not their core business”, notes the CGT leader.
In a press release, the La Poste group states that “all mail” is delivered normally in the town of Frontignan, including the La Peyrade area”. The postal operator assures that it works to satisfy users by guaranteeing a mail delivery service 6 days a week throughout the Frontignan area.
The management of La Poste urges its customers to correctly provide their residential address (street number, street name, postcode), which must be supplemented by a building and apartment number, if it concerns a multi-family building.
In case of problems, the management also invites each resident to contact 3631. Concerning the post office, the latter is open at the usual times, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. However, this office may have experienced unexpected absences which led to closures on an exceptional basis.
Located near the Lapeyrade sector, La Poste reminds customers that they can also go to the Frontignan post office, avenue Frédéric-Mistral, open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2:15 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12h.
Jean-Louis Bonneric is also sounding the alarm. In the summer, the post office in the La Peyrade district closes for 15 days. And recently, according to the elected official, the establishment has, “decided from time to time to close the La Peyrade office on Wednesday afternoons. People are forced to take the car to go and do banking or other transactions in Frontignan center.”
