There are already two references to Iron Man in The Mandalorian season 2!
A reference to Iron Man, which we just learned the hidden meaning of the burger scene, is hidden in episode 6 of The Mandalorian season 2 (our verdict can be read here). Fans of Star wars and Marvel Studios had already spotted a nod to the billionaire superhero in the show’s first episode, making two with this one! These many connections to the MCU can be explained by the presence of Jon Favreau, the director of the adventures of Tony Stark, behind the camera of this original Disney + program. This time, it is through a dialogue that the filmmaker offered an Easter Egg to the spectators. Reddit user Jedd the Jedi spotted it at the very beginning of the episode, when Din Djarin is about to land on Tython.

During the scene, he tells Grogu that they are going “have to travel the last straight line with the windows down”. A nod to a replica of Robert Downey Jr. in the first Iron man ! When the superhero is chased by the US Air Force, which is after him for allowing himself to fly over a restricted area, he is questioned by James Rhodes on where exactly he is. Obviously Tony Stark is lying to him about this by telling him that he “drove with the helmet down“! As you can see, this is a fairly subtle and well-found reference, which only a keen ear can perceive. Who knows, maybe Jon Favreau still has a little surprise or two for fans of the Marvel franchises and Star wars… Answer in the next episodes!
