The Chinese government encourages owners of electric vehicles by offering various benefits. That is why the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV miniature electric hatchback took the third place in sales.
The first place went to the BYD Song Plus crossover. During the year, 459,424 cars of this model were bought in China.
USA
In the US, car sales are down 8% compared to 2021. In 2022, 13.83 million cars were sold in the States.
The North American market is still dominated by large pickup trucks. The best-selling model was the Ford F-Series. During the year, 653,957 of these cars were sold.
Chevrolet Silverado took second place in sales. In 2022, 523,249 cars of this model were bought.
The top three are closed by RAM pickups. 468,344 of these cars were sold during the year.
Europe
Europe is also seeing a drop in car sales. Germany, the UK, France, Italy and Spain bought 6% fewer new cars in 2022 than in 2021. In total, 9.05 million cars were purchased in the region during the year.
