The cross-country ability of the Kia Sportage was improved by increasing the clearance and installing special off-road tires. The crossover retained the standard engine and all-wheel drive system.
A special off-road version of the Kia Sportage X-Pro was presented in the USA. The crossover was prepared for use in the most severe conditions. Details of the car were revealed on the official website of Kia.
The new Kia Sportage X-Pro was created for the Rebelle Rally. This almost 2,500 km long rally marathon takes place annually in the deserts of California and Nevada, and only female crews compete in it. The standard Kia Sportage 2022 was taken as the basis. The production version is prepared for simple off-road, but this was not enough for the Rebelle Rally.
The Kia Sportage X-Pro crossover received 17-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 off-road tires and metal underbody protection. In addition, its clearance increased by 38 mm (up to 248 mm), and a roof rack appeared on the roof.
Kia Sportage tuning did not affect the power unit. The crossover is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter engine with 190 hp. with., which is put on the American version of the model. The automatic 8-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive with different off-road modes also remain unchanged.
Of course, Kia Sportage will not be produced in this form. However, the production model in the US already has an X-Pro version with increased ground clearance and a plastic body kit.
