The first photo of the second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT has hit the Internet. The sports coupe should be presented this year. The picture was published on the Cochespias page on Instagram.
The new Mercedes-AMG GT retains the signature “mouth” of the radiator grille and the familiar silhouette with a long hood and a cabin shifted back. The sports car has become more elegant in appearance: it has smooth shapes and teardrop-shaped headlights.
From now on, the Mercedes-AMG GT will be available as a coupe – the convertible was abandoned so that it would not compete with the Mercedes-AMG SL. At the same time, door handles and rear-view mirrors were borrowed from the latter. Obviously, he will also be a donor of interior parts.
As before, the Mercedes-AMG GT will be equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Specialists from the High Performance Powertrain division, which creates engines for Mercedes Formula 1 cars, are helping to finalize it.
In the standard version, the engine power will be raised to about 580-600 hp. With. and will complement it with a 48-volt “mild” hybrid installation. The top-end will be an 840-horsepower plug-in hybrid: its V8 will be paired with an electric motor.
