The unusual gift was received, the oldest city in Ukraine, Kiliya (in the South of Odessa region), who recently turned 2701 year. One of the local sponsors has presented the community (represented by the municipality) two African lion cubs. And here city officials are faced with a problem: animals have all the necessary documents, but the local zoo doesn’t have the specialized farm too.
As reported the mayor of Sochi Pavel Boychenko, this question caused heated discussion in the city and on social networks before deciding the fate of the cubs, so he decided to consult with citizens.
“There are two options: the first is to create in the city, attracting sponsors, animal-friendly ecozone, which will be interesting and residents of the community, and tourists; the second to give the cubs another city, which is already equipped zoo. For those who propose to release cubs into the wild, I want to add that predator born in captivity will never be able to live in natural for members of his family conditions,” — said Boychenko.
And in Odessa bioparque were born three white tiger cubs. According to the administration of the zoo, the kids — two boys and a girl — the representatives of the rare species of white Bengal tigers, of which now there are only about 200 individuals. The cubs feel well and are in a separate enclosure with a mother — tigress Bratislava.
The white tiger is not considered a separate subspecies is a specimen of a Bengal tiger (it is listed in the international Red book) with the presence of recessive genes. That is what leads to the unusual color in the form of small dark bands on a white fur and the presence of blue eyes. This color is very rare in wild animals. The frequency of occurrence of white tigers — one individual per 10 thousand with a normal color.
Then a small predator, perhaps another, filmed in the Parking lot of the Odessa flats. Another lion cub, the third, was spotted in one of the residential complexes on the French Boulevard in Odessa.
