< p class="e-p">Paul St-Pierre Plamondon will become the fourth leader on Saturday to pass through Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean during the election campaign.

The leader of the Parti Québécois will participate in an activist rally at Côté-Cour, in Jonquière, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The five candidates from the region will be present. Caroline Dubé (Jonquière), William Fradette (Lac-Saint-Jean), Alice Villeneuve (Chicoutimi), Émile Simard (Dubuc) and Patrice Bouchard (Roberval) are expected to speak.

It was not possible to know if there will be activities in the other constituencies.

The leader of the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ), Dominique Anglade, will therefore remain the only one not to have come to the region. The party has struggled to recruit five candidates in the region.

The leader of the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ), François Legault, has come twice since the start of the campaign , including the first day on August 28. Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, from Québec solidaire, was in Saguenay last Saturday and Sunday. The leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ) spent an entire day, from Saguenay to Lac-Saint-Jean, on August 31.

In 2018, only one PQ MP, Sylvain Gaudreault, had been elected in the region. The latter chose not to stand again after 15 years as a representative of Jonquière.

The PQ has elected deputies in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean without interruption since 1973 Marc-André Bédard was then elected in Chicoutimi.
